HIP HOP for AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING at WITHROW:

Artists’ Play School of Dance promotes movement and creativity while teaching dance skills in a variety of different dance genres and styles.

Hip Hop Grades 4 – 6
Mondays from 3:30 to 4:45pm

March 19th to May 28th, 2012
$135.00 for the 9 week session (including hst) per student.

An upbeat and popular class, students will be lead through a series of warm up exercises, short combinations, fun rhythms and skills. More complex and challenging dances are introduced into the class in a fun and exciting manner. Each class provides time for students to also create and explore what they have learned in that class. Within the session, the students will have the chance to perform for each other. This component encourages team building and support for each other as they build confidence and valuable life skills. Each student will take new dance styles, skills and the love of dance with them! End of session culminates with a performance at this year’s Withrow Fun Fair.

Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:45pm

$165.00 for the 11 week session (including hst) per student

Fun and exciting dance styles with popular music to groove to! Creative play and improvisation is paired with skill building in this after school program. Students will learn steps, combinations and tricks as well as be encouraged to find their own personal style. Each class provides time for students to create and explore what they have learned in that class. Within the session, the students will have the chance to perform for each other. This component encourages team building and support for each other as they build confidence and valuable life skills. Each student will take new dance styles, skills and the love of dance with them! End of session culminates with a performance at this year’s Withrow Fun Fair.
