Training in basic ballet techniques while keeping a focus on creativity and play. At this point of the students journey, they start to learn movements which relate to more advanced steps. Balance and strength are achieved through combinations and choreography each week. At Artists’ Play children are always encouraged to create their own dances and stories through a series of exercises which aid them in doing so.

A fun and upbeat creative movement class for girls who love popular music.  Using child friendly hip hop and pop music children will be taken through a series of creative dance journeys and led through a series of skill building exercises.

An energetic and fun class which offers a variety of jazz styles while focusing on technique and performance. Muscle development is equally as important and is shared and taught in Jazz as well as Ballet. Each week dancers learn different combinations and work on them until they are satisfied and have accomplished a series. They are also lead through improvisational tools and games to improve their own story telling through dance.

An energetic and fun class which offers a variety of jazz styles while focusing on technique and performance. An upbeat and popular class, students will be lead through a series of warm up exercises to ensure they are ready to dance. Short combinations are lead to introduce steps and rhythms which then are used in a larger dance which students are then encouraged to perform for each other.

Tap class focuses on rhythm, complex coordination of the lower body and flexible, agile feet. It is an excellent development of music training for dancers. Made famous by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly and Canadian John Stanzel, tap dancing is know for its high entertainment value, stunning speed and relaxed style.

AFTERSCHOOL DANCE CLUB for children in Grades SK to 3 on FRIDAYS. First session starts Jan 13th, 2012 and runs to March 2nd, 2012. The cost for this 8 week dance club is $120.00.  Dance club will run again after march break with two more sessions until June 2012.

Students will learn Hip Hop, Music Videos, Jazz, Silks and many other types of performance styles.  They will also be given the opportunity to create with arts and crafts in making sets or props!

Even better….Lead by Jason Vanstone, students will also be mentored by some of Artists’ Play’s senior dancers. PICK UP AVAILABLE FROM YOUR SCHOOL – additional $15 for the 8 weeks of pick up.
